I am going to Ayia Napa this year and I am really concerned about the scams perpetrated on tourists that I read about on the Internet. Is it really that bad?(give a different answer) .
It's not that bad if you are a bit careful. The most common scam is overcharged fares in taxis, but that's a common problem in all Cyprus. Always ask the driver to start the meter or negotiate hard on the price. Other common scam is when apparently good willing people make you think you won some prize after you scratched a lottery card, but they make you buy something as a condition to receive the prize. Avoid them at all cost.
