Kyrenia ("Girne" in Turkish) is said to be one of the most beautiful places in Cyprus. It is an old fishermen village that rose to a village only in the 20th century. The best places to see would be the old castle, enjoy the view from the top and see the oldest shipwreck in the world inside, walk around the harbour, watch the fishermen and enjoy the traditional restaurants and tavernas. The town feels very Mediterranean and is very quiet compared to other Cypriot towns.
